NBMC LITTLE FREE PANTRY
In an effort to provide the community with daily essentials and encourage “neighbors helping neighbors,” New Beginnings Moravian Church in Huntersville, opened up its Little Free Pantry several years ago.

Joining more than 50 communities around the country, New Beginnings’ Little Free Pantry can be found on their campus at 211 Seagle St., in Huntersville (just east of Hwy 115, off of Ramah Church Road).

“Take what you need, give what you can” is the mantra of the Little Free Pantries. There’s no need to ask for assistance, or register to use it – those in need can just help themselves to the rotating inventory of canned goods, toiletries, diapers, wipes, etc. The Pantry is open ‘round the clock, 7 days a week, and can, at the very least, fill the gap on the weekends when the local soup kitchen and food pantry is closed.
Don’t have a need for the pantry, but want to participate? Donations are gratefully accepted by the church.

Items that are always in demand are canned soups, canned proteins & vegetables, bags of beans, paper goods, and toiletries – toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, shampoo, etc. Please drop your donations at the church (at the top of the ramp) …and thank you in advance.

And, while you’re there, be sure to check out our Little Free Library, located a mere 20 feet away from the LFP. Our Little Free Library will celebrate its 10th Anniversary this August. “Take a book, leave a book” if you’d like…that’s what it’s there for!

NBMC Garden Ministry
Faith-based community garden in Huntersville, North Carolina whose mission is to demonstrate the saving love of Jesus Christ and provide the food insecure of North Mecklenberg County with fresh produce throughout the growing season.

The ministry is led by John Marek, one of our members at New Beginnings, who is certified as an instructor by the Square Foot Gardening Foundation. John worked with the church board to create a plan that would not burden the church financially and allows us to make better use of one of our most valuable assets, the property at Black Farms Road. If you would like to be involved, please reach out

For the past 4 years, the Garden has grown exponentially, thanks in part to several Grants that afforded us the ability to connect to city water. Most of our fresh produce is donated to the local Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen, and the balance is laid out in our Fresh Produce Stand each week for passersby to take what they'd like.
