CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT LOVEFEAST
Moravian Christmas Eve Candlelight Lovefeast
For more than 500 years, Moravians have celebrated Christmas in a very special way. Our unique service encompasses all the traditional readings and carols, but also includes the serving of a simple meal of coffee and a sweetened bun. It's called a Love Feast, and it celebrates both our love of Christ and of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
This very special Christmas Eve service culminates with each congregant holding aloft a lighted, home-made beeswax candle, signifying the sacrifice of Christ and the flame of love He generated. It's an incredibly moving way to begin your celebration of Christmas. It will be a Christmas memory you and your family will want to make a yearly tradition.
We invite you to join us in-person for this traditional Moravian Christmas Love Feast. We will have two services, one at 4:30 pm and one at 7:00 pm. We will also be live streaming the 4:30 service on our youtube channel if you want to participate virtually in this wonderful tradition.
